When we talk about love we only like to talk about the good times and all of the highs but what about the bad times and the lows? What about the break ups and the times you took them back? The same cycles that keep repeating over and over again? The hurtful things they said being embedded in your mind? The dreams about the hurt they've caused? The night terrors and sweats and so much more?


If you know someone or you are the somebody dealing with emotional or physical damage from a relationship. Let them know they're not alone. You're not alone. There will be PTSD to come along with things like anxiety and depression but you will be okay and you can get through it. Life will go on eventually and you'll get your happiness back. It might be hard but never be afraid to leave.


Relationship PTSD stems from one or more traumatic events within a romantic partnership. Abuse leads to trauma. If a trauma response continues for several months, it can develop into PTSD. It isn't just physical abuse that leads to PTSD...When a person suffers from PTSD they've experience more than one type of abuse or mistreatment.


🌸 What causes relationship PTSD? —


• Physical abuse

• Emotional abuse

• Sexual abuse

• Financial abuse

• Technological abuse

• Spiritual abuse

🌸 Signs + effects of relationship PTSD —


• Having unwarranted trust issues.


• Gravating towards abusive and controlling partners.


• Blowing things out of proportion or overreacting when having minor disagreements or mishaps.


• Instantly sabotaging new relationships.


• Obsessing or picking your current relationship apart



🌸 Healing from relationship PTSD? —


* Understanding the trauma.


* Reflecting and accepting the trauma.


* Understanding the effects of trauma on your mind and body.


* Finding your power/strength and moving forward in a positive way.


** Seeing a doctor/counselor/therapist can also assist you as well.

Affirmations

• I will get through this.

• This pain will lessen day by day.

• I am lovable.

• I am safe and I'm okay.

• I will heal from this.

• I release my past.

• I will love again.

• I am completely whole and perfect by myself.

• There is something amazing waiting for me and I'm deserving of a healthy love.

i have always had a hard time accepting the pain and hurt because i brush it under the rug. i try to feel my emotions now so i can let it go and be at peace with it.
